the disc where the volcanoes erupt
and the dinosaurs fall into the earth

over “drizzle” and “shower” and
which is the heavier rainfall
&
no clear idea of
which side I took

the woman in the grocery store
who said “these sure are some
busy people in the face” and
my intense need to speak with her

the number 5 becomes
stuck in my head
for some reason
affecting my life
both positively
and negatively

a close friend asks
“if vampires were real
wouldn’t they all be junkies?”
